XYLO does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data to our servers or third parties. Everything stays on your device.

On-Device Processing

All features of XYLO operate entirely on your device:

Document scanning uses Apple's Vision framework (on-device OCR)
AI summarization uses a locally stored open-source model (Gemma 4 Edge) running via llama.cpp
Document chat uses Apple's NLEmbedding for on-device semantic search and the same Gemma model for generating answers
Document analysis uses Apple's NaturalLanguage framework for keyword extraction, sentiment analysis, and entity recognition

No text, images, or analysis results are ever transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.

Data Storage

All data generated by the App is stored locally on your device:

Analysis results stored in the app's local SwiftData database
Source files stored in the app's local Documents directory
AI models downloaded once from Hugging Face and stored locally
User preferences stored in local UserDefaults
Chat conversations stored in-memory during sessions, optionally persisted locally

You can delete all stored data at any time from Settings. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data.

Network Usage

The App makes network requests only for one purpose:

One-time AI model download — When you first set up the App, it downloads AI model files from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This is the only network request the App ever makes. After download, no further network access is required.

Camera Permission

Camera is used solely for capturing document images for OCR text extraction. Photos are processed on-device and stored locally. They are never uploaded or transmitted. You can revoke camera permissions at any time in your device's Settings.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App does not contain ads. The only third-party interaction is the initial download of open-source AI models from Hugging Face.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The App is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages.
