Yes. All document processing happens on-device with zero network communication. The only network activity is a one-time model download (6 GB devices only) and optional in-app purchases via Apple. Delete the app, and all data is gone.

XYLO is optimized for English documents and questions. The AI models and analysis pipeline are tuned for English text. Audio recording supports the device's default language for transcription.

XYLO's "Ask Your Library" feature lets you search across all your analyzed documents at once. It creates vector indices for each document on-device, then retrieves relevant sections from multiple documents to answer your question. All answers include citations showing which documents the information came from.

On devices with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro+, iPhone 16), XYLO uses Apple's built-in AI by default—no download needed. You can optionally download Gemma 4 for richer, more detailed answers. On other devices, XYLO downloads Gemma or Qwen models during setup. All options are fully on-device and private.

Yes! XYLO v1.2 includes Collections for organizing your documents. Every analysis is automatically tagged with its document type (contract, receipt, report, etc.) plus relevant keywords. You can add your own tags, create collections, and filter your history by tags or collections to find documents quickly.

On devices using Gemma models, XYLO monitors thermal state and automatically switches to Apple Intelligence under load to keep your device cool. This happens transparently—you'll still get accurate answers while preventing overheating. The system uses sticky hysteresis to prevent rapid switching back and forth.
