XYLO uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to ensure answers are grounded in your document content. All answers include citations showing which part of the document was used. However, always verify critical information.
You can ask about specific information ("What is the payment schedule?"), request summaries ("Summarize Section 3"), or ask for clarification ("What does this clause mean?"). The AI works best with specific, document-related questions.

Ask Your Library lets you search across all your analyzed documents at once. Instead of asking questions about one document, you can ask "Which contracts mention payment terms?" and get answers citing multiple documents. All vector indices are created on-device and your library search is completely private.
Every document you analyze is automatically tagged with its document type (contract, receipt, report, invoice, letter, etc.) plus relevant keywords. You can organize documents into Collections (like folders), add your own custom tags, and filter your history by tags or collections to find documents quickly.
XYLO v1.2 uses iOS 26's advanced document recognition to preserve tables, lists, and document structure during analysis. You can export tables to CSV, Markdown, or TSV format. This works on all iOS 26 devices, not just those with Apple Intelligence.
On devices with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro+, iPhone 16), XYLO uses Apple's built-in AI by default—no download needed. You can optionally download Gemma 4 (~3.5GB) for richer, more detailed answers. On other 8GB devices, XYLO downloads Gemma during setup. On 6GB devices (iPhone 14), it uses a compact Qwen2.5 model (~1GB). All options are 100% on-device and private.
On devices using Gemma models, XYLO monitors your device's temperature and automatically switches to Apple Intelligence under thermal load to keep your device cool. This happens transparently—you'll still get accurate answers without your phone overheating. The system uses smart logic to prevent rapid switching back and forth.
